Orlando Oropez

Orlando Oropez is an attorney licensed to practice since October of 2024, with his practice mostly focusing on matters in criminal and immigration law. He is originally from Weslaco, Texas and went to Texas Tech University where he obtained his B.A in Psychology in Fall 2020. Much of his time was spent volunteering in the community and organizing educational and social events with his fraternity, Lambda Theta Phi, Gamma Phi Chapter. He obtained is J.D from the Texas Tech School of Law Spring 2024. During this time, he was a proud member of the Estate Planning Journal, where he wrote a published article advocating for the creation of deportation trusts in the state of Texas to protect the property rights of immigrants. He was also awarded Outstanding Comment Editor by the EPJ in Spring 2024 for his work mentoring staff members in developing their own articles. He gained legal experience while a student from serving as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Les Hatch in the 264th Judicial District of Lubbock County and for the Honorable Judge David Counts in the United States District Court, Western District of Texas in Midland. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Bella and Chiquis, and enjoys exercising and being outdoors. He is a dedicated football and basketball fan, supporting his favorite teams the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the New England Patriots, and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
